Passenger removed from American Airlines flight after heated exchange with cabin crew

A passenger on an American Airlines flight was asked to get off the plane. Reason? He was constantly complaining about a fellow passenger clogging up the overhead bin space with too many bags. Another passenger recorded the incident on camera and shared the video on social media.

In the video, a man in a yellow T-shirt with his hair in a knot can be heard saying, “This guy put his luggage up here, now we have no room,” as other passengers continue to board the plane. “He has no place. Look,” he remarked, gesturing to a passenger sitting on the other side of the aisle.

A cabin crew member quickly intervened and said, “Sir, I’ll ask you one more time. You need to stop this whole baggage situation,” pointing a finger in the passenger’s face.

To that, the passenger said: “Point your finger at me one more time, I’m calling the police.”

Towards the end, an airline employee asks the woman with the man if she intends to stay on the flight. “No, I’m going with him,” says the woman. The man then stood up, took his bags out of the compartment above his seat and exited the plane.

“Guy freaks out over overhead storage in flight and gets kicked out of plane,” reads the caption written alongside the video shared by user ‘Cool_Disaster2484’ on Reddit’s ‘Public Freakout’ community.

Captioning the video, the Reddit user wrote: “Ironically, he had about four large bags on top of his head. I left out the horrible racist comments he made to the gentleman who put his luggage in the overhead bin.”

Another added: “I’m surprised he didn’t cross his arms and stay where he was until the police came.”

A fourth commented: “I feel so sorry for that flight attendant. He seemed like a very nice person.”

“Makes no sense. Losing his cool because of the available space when his things were already put away?” wrote a fifth.
